If you remember, in Step 2 to Success, Monetize, of the Acme People Search affiliate program you are requested to choose a hosting company for your FREE people search engine website. To review the steps of the Acme People Search program, read the post, Internet Business Income Opportunity – How To Set Up Acme People Search. This program utilizes HostGator or GDI. However, as an individual signed up, they may not have been given this choice and had to choose GDI. This occurred because the affiliate sponsor met several requirements of the Acme People Search affiliate program and was allowed to force the web hosting to GDI. The reason an existing affiliate may do this is to take advantage of the GDI residual income.

Currently, as of the day of posting this article, the GDI compensation plan is as follows:

• 10% on personal sales to customers who purchase any domains offered by GDI (Level 1)
• 10% on your personally sponsored affiliates sales (Level 2), 10% on the sales of the people they personally sponsor (Level 3), 10% on Level 4 and Level 5.
• Bonus – For every 5 paid affiliates you refer in a one week period, you’ll earn a $100 cash bonus. There is no limit.
• Heavy Hitter Bonus – Any affiliate referring 1,000 or more paid affiliates in any consecutive 4 week period is eligible to receive $5,000 in addition to the thousands per month you’ll be making in residual commissions.

As of the posting day of this article, HostGator paid the following commissions:

1-5 a month $50 per sign up
6-10 a month $75 per sign up
11-20 a month $100 per sign up
21+ a month $125 per sign up

Let’s do the math so you can better understand why some of the Acme People Search affiliates force GDI as the hosting company to their sign ups.

Example: If you had 20 sign-ups in any month (5 per week) you will get:

HostGator: $100 x 20 = $2,000

GDI: 10% on personal sales: $10 x 10% = $1.00 x 20 sign ups = $20
Bonus on above sales: $100 x 4 weeks (for 5 sign ups in 1 week) = $400

So far, it appears that you should choose HostGator, but remember, with GDI, you get paid for Level 2, 3, 4 and 5 and this is residual income. So, if these levels have achieved 20 signs up in the month, you would be paid $20 ($10 x 10%=$1 x 20 sign ups) for each level. $20 x 4 levels (2, 3, 4, 5) = $80

The total GDI commissions for the month would be $500. Well, how is that better than HostGator? As long as all level affiliates stay in the program, you will receive residual income of $100/month. Now, you’re thinking, so what? $100 x 12 = $1200 + $400 bonus = $1,600 for the year. How is this better than HostGator? First, the bonus was only for one month. You will continue to strive for 5 sign ups per week to get the bonus and so will your affiliates and their affiliates, etc. Your downline will continue to grow, which could potentially create $3,000 to $5,000 per month in residual income. HostGator does not provide residual income. It is a one time pay out for the referral. GDI will continue to pay you as long as each person continues to host with them. And, most will stay, because most affiliates prefer the potential to earn $3,000 to $5,000 per month instead of $2,500 per month. Don’t you agree? Remember, if you qualify for the Forced GDI option, you do not have to participate. You can have HostGator offered first followed by Global Domains International, GDI, and leave that option to your sign up.
